Constantinos Carydis was born in Athens in 1974. After studying piano at the Athens Conservatory, he completed conducting studies with Prof. Hermann Michael at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich.
His first engagements took him to the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and the Stuttgart State Opera. Since then, he has made guest appearances at the Vienna State Opera, the Berlin State Opera, the Komische Oper in Berlin, the Opéra de Lyon, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf/Duisburg, the Netherlands Opera in Amsterdam, the Frankfurt Opera and the Athens State Opera. He was also invited to perform at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the Munich State Opera.
In the concert hall, Constantinos Carydis has conducted among others the Munich Philharmonic, the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the Konzerthaus Orchestra in Berlin, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
This is his first appearance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
