Marianna Pizzolato graduated with honours from the Bellini Conservatory in Palermo, took Lieder courses in Nuremberg with Rosemarie Cabaud and Werner Dormann, worked with Raul Gimenez, with whom she studied in depth her major Rossini roles, and is currently studying with Claudia Carbi. She made her operatic debut in the 2002-03 season. Since then, she has performed Baroque, eighteenth-century and belcanto repertoire with Ensemble Baroque de Nice, Ensemble Matheus, Les Arts Florissants and others, as well as at the ThéÌâÌtre des Champs ElyséÌes in Paris, Teatro SâÌo Carlos in Lisbon, Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Gran Teatre de Liceu in Barcelona, Welsh National Opera and in Bologna, Palermo, Valencia, Zurich, LièÌge, Tokyo and Santiago de Chile.
Marianna Pizzolato has collaborated with such conductors as Alberto Zedda, Riccardo Muti, Roberto Abbado, Daniele Gatti, William Christie, Nello Santi, Antonio Pappano and others. Her festival appearances include Ambronay, La Coru÷Ìa, Spoleto and the Rossini Opera Festival, where she is a regular guest.
This is her first appearance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
