Eitan Shapiro - Percussion

Eitan Shapiro describes himself as "definitely the best accordion player in the Israel Philharmonic...and I'm proud of it!" In addition to occasional appearances as accordion soloist with the orchestra, Eitan is a member of the percussion section, performing on a wide variety of instruments ranging from bass drum to sleigh bells.

Eitan joined the IPO in 1977 after a rich career of accompanying Israeli folk groups, including the world tour of "Karmon: Grand Music Hall of Israel". He was the referred accompanist of Yaffa Yarkoni, Shoshana Damari, Yossi Banai, Ophira Gluska and Gali Attari, to name only a few.

Eitan is a graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel Aviv University.
