Shemuel Hershko has been the Tuba player of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra since 1978. He studied with two of the world's greatest tuba players: Roger Bobo in Los Angeles and Arnold Jacobs in Chicago, with the help of a special America-Israel cultural Foundation scholarship.
He is very active both as a solo performer and as a chamber musician. Shemuel Hershko has appeared as soloist, among others, with the Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a member of the Israel Philharmonic Brass Quintet.
