Israel Zohar - Bass Clarinet

Israel Zohar, clarinetist and bass-clarinetist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, has appeared with it as soloist in Israel as well as in Brazil, in parts of his own work "Night in Meron".

 

He studied the Israeli "Klezmer" style, became an expert in various other "Klezmer" styles and was named the official musician of the Meron Festivities for the festival of Lag ba'Omer. He frequently appears in Israel and abroad in his entertainment-Hassidic show, "Brightness of Sky".

 

He took part in the festivities celebrating Israel's 40th Independence Day near the Wailing Wall (playing Hajdu's "Jewish Rhapsody") and appeared in many television programmes and broadcasts throughout Europe, Japan and Brazil. He also made numerous records.
