Keynote program – concerts for grades 1-2 children

During the month of May 2011, the IPO gave a number of chamber concerts for grades 1-2 children who take part in the “Keynote” program.

3,383 students attended “To the Concert” – a musical show with the participation of 10 musicians from the Israel Philharmonic under the direction of Zohar Zinger. The students came from schools in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Givat Shmuel, Kfat Shmaryahu, Bet Dagan, Bnei Zion and Tsur Moshe.

The students had all studied the works with their music teachers during the semester and arrived at the auditorium ready and enthusiastic. They heard works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Kabalavsky and Scott Joplin and at the end of the concert, together with the IPO musicians and presenter, they sang two songs: “Our Little Brother” by Naomi Shemer and “What Do the Does Do at Night” lyrics by Leah Goldberg (on the 100th anniversary of her birth) music by Yoni Rechter.

The program for grades 1-2 is run in close collaboration with the School for Musical Education, School of Music, Levinsky College.
