Ekaterina Gubanova, mezzo-soprano
Ekaterina Gubanova is one of the most established mezzo-sopranos of today.
She regularly performs the great roles of Verdi and Wagner on the most important stages of the world including the Metropolitan Opera, la Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper and Teatro Real and appears at renown festivals like Chorégies d’Orange, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Baden-Baden as well as Bayreuth festival. Her repertoire includes roles such as Fricka, Venus, Eboli, Amneris, Brangäne, Iokaste (Oedipus Rex) and Judith (Duke Bluebeard’s Castle) among others.
Ekaterina Gubanova is also an established concert singer. VERDI REQUIEM, Gustav Mahler's DAS LIED VON DER ERDE and DES KNABEN WUNDERHORN, BEETHOVEN'S 9TH SYMPHONY, MAHLER'S 2nd and 3rd SYMPHONY are among her concert repertoire.
She enjoys collaboration with conductors like Daniel Barenboim, Valery Gergiev, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Mark Elder, Daniele Gatti, James Levine and Fabio Luisi.
