Luca Casalin, tenor
Born in Castiglione dei Pepoli, Luca Casalin makes his debuts at first as baritone in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Puccini’s La Bohème and Paisiello’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Later on he switches to the tenor range and performing in all the major Italian opera houses (La Scala in Milan, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Regio in Turin, Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Bellini in Catania, Arena di Verona), but also in France, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Mexico, working with major conductors including Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel and Riccardo Chailly.
In recent seasons he sings, among others, Pagliacci at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Ariadne auf Naxos at Carlo Felice in Genoa, I due Foscari, Turandot and Tosca at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Tosca, Rigoletto and La Traviata at Teatro Regio in Turin, Verdi's Falstaff at Teatro Regio di Parma, Anna Bolena at Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Nabucco at Arena di Verona, Guglielmo Tell at Teatro Regio in Turin, at Stresa’s Festival and in Edinburgh, La Traviata in Minorca, Madama Butterfly at Puccini’s Festival in Torre del Lago and Tosca in São Paulo.
