Event Info

The Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (YIPO) is Israel’s National Youth Orchestra, comprising 100 of Israel’s most talented young musicians between the ages of 14-18.

In their 3-4 years in the orchestra, YIPO members study between 15 and 20 major symphonic works, working with numerous conductors and instrumentalists along the way. In addition, the gala concerts that conclude the courses, held at the Jerusalem Theatre, and the Bronfman Auditorium (Heichal Hatarbut) in Tel Aviv, broadcast live on Israeli radio, to a combined audience of thousands. Over 90% of YIPO graduates go on to higher education (undergraduate and graduate degrees) in music, and many go on to take up prominent positions in the Israel Philharmonic and other orchestras in Israel and abroad.
