Genadi Gurevich

Genadi Gurevich

Genadi Gurevich was born in 1964 in Minsk, Russia, and began his music studies at the age of six. He studied at the Special Music School of the Minsk Academy and later at the Academy itself, in the class of Prof. Olga Parhomenko.
He won First prize at the Belorussia National Competition twice and in 1988 won First Prize at the First David Oistrakh Competition. That same year he was accepted as soloist of the Belorussia State Philharmonic Orchestra.
He was highly acclaimed for his solo appearances with various orchestras in Russia.
In 1990 he settled in Israel and was a member of the Galilee Soloists ensemble. He studied with Prof. Kless at the Tel Aviv Rubin Academy of Music, appeared as soloist and in chamber concerts with various ensembles and was also soloist and Concertmaster in a concert tour of the Galilee Soloists in England.
He has been a member of the First Violin section of the Israel Philharmonic since 1992, and has appeared as a soloist with the orchestra.
