Brad Annis

Brad Annis

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Brad Annis is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in History at Stanford University and his Master’s degree in Music (double bass) at Indiana University, where he studied with renowned double bass player and teacher Lawrence Hurst. While still a student, he was member of the Tanglewood Music Center and the Aspen School of Music and played with the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Charleston, South Carolina and Spoleto, Italy.
In 1990 he was appointed Principal Bassist of the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva, with which he also appeared as soloist. In 1992 he joined the Israel Philharmonic, having performed symphonic and operatic repertoire with major international conductors and soloists both in Israel and on tours abroad.
Brad Annis takes part in KeyNote, the Israel Philharmonic’s educational and outreach program.
