Two sweeping works by two of the greatest Romantic composers. In the first half of the concert, we will perform Dvořák’s Second Piano Quartet – a work written at the composer’s country retreat, transforming the Czech pastoral beauty into a grand and moving masterpiece. In the second half: Brahms’s Clarinet Quintet, one of the supreme chamber music masterpieces of all time. Music by a master composer who had seen and experienced it all, filled with extraordinary beauty born of pure inspiration.
