Hagai Shalom

Hagai Shalom began his horn studies at age 10, and soon joined the Haifa Youth Orchestra. In the years 2005-2007 he played at the National Youth Wind Orchestra as well as in the Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. After completing his military service in the IDF orchestra in 2010, Hagai joined the horn section of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra for two seasons. In 2013 he started studying for his Bachelor’s degree in the Dresden College of Music, Germany, with Prof. Robert Langbein. Upon graduation Hagai was accepted to the prestigious academic program of the Staatskapelle Dresden, where he studied with Mr. Zoltán Mácsai. In 2006-2013 Hagai was a recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships. Among his teachers in Israel are Mr. Michael Slatkin, Mr. Hezi Nir and Mr. Ofer Waldman. In 2016-2018 he was a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra led by Daniel Barenboim. Hagai is a horninst in the Israel Philharmonic science 2018.
