Yoel Abadi
Yoel Abadi, chairman of the Israel Philharmonic Management, has performed as a soloist with the orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta in Israel and abroad. As a chamber musician, he has recorded five albums with the Kaprizma Ensemble, which include pieces written especially for him. He has been a guest artist in numerous festivals including, Rolandseck in Germany, St. Petersburg Spring Festival in Russia and the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, performing there alongside Daniel Barenboim, who subsequently invited him to join his West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. Yoel Abadi has performed at the Jerusalem Early Music Workshop, playing the natural horn alongside prominent early music artists. Taking a keen interest in the training of young musicians, Yoel Abadi is on the faculty of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University. His students have continued their studies at some of the finest academic institutions in the world and have been accepted to orchestras in Israel and abroad. In addition, he is one of the founders of the Israel Horn Day and has also taught at the Italian Brass Week. Yoel Abadi studied in Israel with James Madison Cox. He continued his studies in the USA with William VerMeulen at Rice University and attended the Early Music Institute at Indiana University, where he studied natural horn with Richard Seraphinoff. For over ten consecutive years he was a recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships.
