Matan Noussimovitch

Matan Noussimovitch was born in Haifa, Israel in 1990. He completed his Bachelor’s degree with excellence in Dr. Lilach Levanon’s class at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel-Aviv University. A recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships since 2007, he was a member of the Jerusalem Music Center’s Young Musicians Program and served in the IDF as an Outstanding Musician in 2008-11. Prize winner of the 2013 Aviv competitions, he won both the Viola and Audience’s Favorite prizes. He also won third prize in the Bled Festival Viola Competition in Slovenia and first prizes in the String Competition and Chamber Music Competition at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. Matan Noussimovitch has performed as a soloist under the baton of Zubin Mehta and gave his solo debut at Carnegie Hall with violinist Hagai Shaham and the Buchmann-Mehta Symphony Orchestra, and has made solo performances with various Israeli orchestras. He has also served as Principal Violist with many youth orchestras, including the Young Israel Philharmonic, the Buchmann-Mehta School Symphony Orchestra and the Schleswig-Holstein youth orchestra. A member of the Israel Philharmonic since 2012.
