Born in Alessandria, Italy, Alessio Verna studied voice under the guidance of mezzo-soprano Franca Mattiucci. He made his debut as Malatesta in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and since then has appeared at the Florence Opera, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Rome Opera, Arena di Verona, Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, Teatro Comunale Pavarotti in Modena, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Ravenna, the operas of Pisa, Livorno and Alessandria, as well as the Verdi Festival (2018). This is his first appearance with the Israel Philharmonic.
