Tomer Amrani

Born and raised in Ra’anana, Israel, Tomer Amrani was inspired to study music from a young age and began studying the flute at the age of nine with Anat Tiberger-Ben Haim at the Ra’anana Music Center. Later, he studied with Prof. Avner Biron at the Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem.

From 2016, he studied with Mr. Mathieu Dufour in Berlin and was also mentored by Emmanuel Pahud (both principal flutists of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra), where he finished his Bachelor degree. At the age of 16 he became a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra of maestro Daniel Barenboim and later the principal flute of the orchestra, with which he performed on tours around the world. In addition, Tomer worked as principal flute at the Swedish Radio Orchestra and has been invited to play as a guest principal flute with the Komishe-Oper Berlin, Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, Dresden Philharmonie and the Robert-Schumann Philharmonie Chemnitz.  Tomer has participated in the Lucerne Festival and the “Salzburger Festspiele” and played in prestigious halls throughout the world, such as Carnegie Hall, the BBC Proms, the Berlin Philharmonie and more. As a soloist, Tomer has performed with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim, the Israel Philharmonic, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, Ensemble “Luminar”, the Ra’anana Symphonnete Orchestra and the Thelma Yellin Orchestra. Tomer Amrani won numerous competitions, including the Jerusalem Academy competition for Wind and Percussion (2015), the National Wind Competition (2012), the Eran Zolden Soloists Competition (2012) and the National Flute Competition (2010). He also received scholarships from the Barenboim-Said Foundation, the ARPE Foundation (Switzerland) and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (2007-2019).
