Since receiving First Prize and the Grand Prix at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2015 and Song Prize at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World in 2017, the rising baritone Ariun (Ariunbaatar) Ganbaatar has added most of the leading baritone parts to his repertoire. He performed Macbeth (Macbeth), Giorgio Germont (La traviata), Scarpia (Tosca), Escamillo (Carmen), Amonasro (Aida), Rigoletto (Rigoletto), Renato (Un ballo in maschera), Iago (Otello) and Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana). Ganbaatar is a Guest Soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre. This is his first appearance with the IPO.
