Jakob Schoenfeld

Jakob is a percussionist who graduated from the New England Conservatory, where he studied with Dan Bauch and Will Hudgins, and previously earned his undergraduate degree from the Juilliard School, studying with Greg Zuber and Markus Rhoten. He is also a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Keith Aleo.

Jakob has performed with leading ensembles including the New Jersey Symphony (as Substitute Principal Percussion), the New Haven Symphony (as Substitute Principal Timpani), and Callithumpian Consort. He has also appeared with the New World Symphony, Juilliard Orchestra, AXIOM Ensemble, and Ensemble Intercontemporain.

His festival experience is extensive, including fellowships at the National Repertory Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, the Juilliard Summer Percussion Seminar, and the National Youth Orchestra of the USA. He has performed across the United States, Canada, and Europe, both as a soloist and in orchestral and contemporary ensemble settings.
