Jorge Luis Puerta Aray

 

Jorge Puerta is a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where his roles included Radames (Aida), Gabriele Adorno (Simone Boccanegra) and Calaf (Turandot). Guest engagements have taken him to the Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile as Rodolfo (La Bohème) and as Radames to the Semperoper Dresden. The artist also enjoyed great success as Calaf at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and as Alvaro (La Forza del destino) at the Aalto Theater in Essen.

Thanks to his outstanding voice, he was accepted into the Simón Bolívar National Youth Choir of Venezuela, where he was part of the artistic team that enjoyed great success on tours of Portugal, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom. He completed his training in the ‘Alfredo Kraus’ program for lyric singing at the ‘Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía’ in Madrid. There he received further training and master classes from prominent teachers such as Ryland Davies, Javier Camarena, David Gowland and Susan Bullock.

This is his first appearance with the IPO.
