Born in Dae Gu (South Korea), Simon Lim graduated in 2007 at the Youngnam University in Gyeongsan and moved then to Italy to continue his studies at the Accademia di Perfezionamento of Teatro alla Scala. On the Scala stage, after his debut as Guccio in Gianni Schicchi under Chailly, he took part in productions of the Accademia with the title role in Le nozze di Figaro and roles in Don Carlo, Un ballo in maschera and others.

Among the houses where he has been a regular guest the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, Teatro the Arena in Verona, Opéra de Marseille and more. A special relationship has been built with Teatro la Fenice. Simon performed also at Theatre de Chatelet in Paris, the Glyndebourne Festival, Teatro Regio di Torino, Opera de Bilbao, and Den Norske Opera in Oslo.

This is his first appearance with the IPO.
