Vincenzo Milletarì

Vincenzo Milletarì is one of the leading Italian conductors of his generation. The 25/26 season sees his return to the Royal Swedish Opera with Aida, Teatro di San Carlo with Turandot, and Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano for a concert performance of Il trovatore. Milletarì will also make debuts at the Glyndebourne Festival with Il turco in Italia; Teatro Coccia in Novara with Macbeth; Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari with Il trovatore and Falstaff, as well as symphonic concerts with Gothenburg Symphony and the orchestra of Teatro la Fenice.

Vincenzo Milletarì launched into his career in 2017, immediately collaborating with prestigious opera companies throughout Europe, such as the Royal Danish Opera, the Royal Swedish Opera, the Prague State Opera, the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo and the Bergen Opera.

Recent seasons have also seen Vincenzo conduct at the Verbier Festival, Teatro di San Carlo, Göteborg Opera, Royal Swedish Opera; concert performances with the Orchestra Sinfonica of Milan, the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo; and at the Opéra de Tours. In his native Italy, he led Il trovatore at the Macerata Opera Festival, becoming the youngest conductor ever to have been invited to the prestigious festival.

Born in Taranto in 1990, Vincenzo Milletarì studied at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, refining his operatic repertoire under the mentorship of Riccardo Muti and Pier Giorgio Morandi, whom he has regularly worked with since 2015.

Vincenzo Milletarì has recorded a CD with the Copenhagen Philharmonic featuring instrumental and symphonic music by Max Bruch, released on the Brilliant label.

This is his first appearance with the IPO.
