When Tchaikovsky Meets Duke Ellington
A staged musical dialogue between the Israel Philharmonic and the Israel Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Lahav Shani, who will also appear as piano soloist in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
The program moves from contemporary jazz works through Gershwin, and concludes with a double take on The Nutcracker: Tchaikovsky’s original symphonic version alongside the jazz arrangement by Ellington and Strayhorn.
A concert that moves freely between the concert hall and the jazz club, not to be missed!
